I personally enjoy them for the thrill of it. You already know it isn't true or dangerous so you get your adrenaline pump without actually being in a scary situation. My parents and I routinely watch horror films together and then laugh at each other when we jump at a scare.

Am one of them! I guess i was introduced to horror movies at a young age. It made me strong back then. As i grew older, i needed to watch even more bloody horror movies. My favorite was the "Saw" sequel. This one took the definition of horror to the next level. I guess it just depends on how you were introduced to movies from the tender age when we had time to watch. I loved the Dracula movies, i guess that is why i am inclined to horror movies.
