Since I started practicing Stoicism, I learned a lot about being present. We should never concern ourselves with things that are outside our control. The past is gone, and we cannot do anything about it. The future is uncertain, you should not waste your time thinking about it. Instead, take advantage of the present. Make your present the best, and the future will be good for you. What you do NOW will determine how the future will be.

Look at it this way, if you save money today, you will be making the future better, but the act of saving is done NOW.

I am terrified of the way global warming and climate change are affecting the world. There is a chance that COVID-19 may not be the last/only pandemic to hit us. Countries are running out of fuel, food, water, and other essential resources. The greed of a few people is ruining the lives of millions if not more. Wars are being fought, democracies are losing their integrity and we seem to be moving towards a more desensitized generation because of how common heinous crimes are becoming.  So, I guess it would be right to say that the thing I'm most scared of is the consequence of our own actions as humans.

I'm scared of the unknown. Because we don't know when we're going to die, or how. Especially, the likes of covid, global warming, racism and hate and more destroying this planet.

I'm scared of what the future could hold for myself and my future children. And on top of it all, so much is changing in this world, from laws and the people in charge. We don't know what is going to happen in the years to come. And that can be scary.

That anyone can die at any moment and nothing can prepare me for their demise. Losing my animal companions. Just a list of things which one can't do anything about because they are inevitable and are something we'll have to live with.
