Losing someone's trust. If you do anything to lose a person's trust, be it a friend or a partner, you run the risk of losing them for good. Some people are able to forgive and move on while others need to cut ties in order to forgive and move on. I know for me, once the trust is busted, there is no getting it back.

I think dishonesty is a big factor in ending relationships. As Debbie mentioned in her answer, losing someone's trust is a big deal. I feel like it is simultaneously the first strike as well as the nail in the coffin for a relationship. Once you've lied and been caught in, said lie, you have no credibility. I suppose there are some harmless lies people tell each other and then get over however if you're constantly dishonest or if you're dishonest for a long time, the moment the other person realizes it is the moment that relationship is over.

I agree with both Osheen and Debbie. Betrayal and losing someone's trust is a sure way to get yourself ripped off in a relationship. The ways one can lose trust depend on what they consider serious in their opinion. It would be cheating in a romantic relationship. Putting someone down, being disrespectful, and treating someone as a dumpster for one's toxic emotions without dealing with them are some sure-fire ways to obliterate a relationship to bits.

By far, EXPLOITATION is the worst thing that can happen between friends or lovers. And not necessarily in an obvious manner. A person can exploit another of their time, resources, love and energy, leaving them emotionally drained, financially drained or spiritually drained.

There is no feeling worse than being exploited by someone you willing chose to be vulnerable with. Lies can be forgiven, betrayals laughed off; and altercations forgotten but exploitation just brings a massive feeling of mistrust that can never be erased.

Think about it, "Why would anyone sabotage a good friendship or relationship by taking advantage of the one person who truly cares for them?"

It makes you wonder, doesn't it?
