What are good colors for a bedroom?

I want to redo my husband and I's bedroom this fall. Right now, it is just basic white walls with wood flooring and a mix of different colors throughout the decor. I want something that will come together and look nice without interrupting my sleep. I know certain colors promote rest while others can mess with it. What are some good colors to go with for a bedroom?

My bedroom is a boring white color. If I can change the colour I would but it's not my place as I rent a basement suite. Like Godwin mentioned blue would be a good colour. It's relaxing, bright and makes you think of summer/blue skies.

Blue is a very relaxing color. It seems to fit in perfectly with bedroom scenery.
