It won't sit well with me at all. I think it`s stone-hearted and disgraceful to let anyone go without a prior warning. I think everyone deserves to know the reason(s) they are being fired.

I totally agree with Dave. Who does that in this day and age? They would be hearing from my lawyer without a doubt.

I don't know what will it be in other countries. But in China, due to the Law of Labor, company must pay 3 times month salary to the employees once they decide to fire the employees. So one day if it happened, maybe I'll try to accept it

I think firing someone without a just cause is beyond monstrous and unacceptable. It won't sit well with me either. Would be in talks with my lawyer as well.

Nobody likes to be thrown off balance without prior notice. It's better to give notice and let the person find alternatives during that period of time. I agree with everything everyone else has said and would be very disappointed if this were to happen.
