I've recently lost my pet cat ( Peter) , and I still don't know how to hold up after his departure.

My 13 year old cat Bella died January of this year. She had a tumor around her stomach that wouldn't allow her to eat. We didn't know what was up, so we took her to a vet and they gave us the bad news. We decided to put her down to end her suffering. I miss her every day.

We ended up burying her in our back yard. I purchased a nice stone plaque. I dealt with the loss as best I could. She lived a long life. Cats usually live up to 13-16 years and she had a long run. Just wish she was still alive being her angry self lol.

The best thing you can do, is just grieve for your loss, and remember them as the pet they used to be.

Sorry to both of you for your loss. We had a family dog who passed away a few years ago due to old age and complications. She was a great dog, very quiet would hardly bark even when the doorbell rang.

Do you have pictures of your pet you can look at from time to time? We took lots of pictures of our dog over the years. That helps with the coping a bit.

Well the majority of my phone gallery consists of Peter (my cat). Looking at those pictures somehow makes me even sadder. Looking him in the phone but not at the couch, his favorite place to pass out.

I know its hardest part of life to lose the dearest thing in life, i never had any pet in my life because I have been always traveling from one town to another since my childhood my family migrated to different locations so it was really hard for us to keep a pet.
