How late is too late to call someone?

Growing up with landlines, the cut-off time for most people who had young children was 9:30PM. Older children, it was usually 10:30PM. We all have cell phones these days so I feel like things are a lot different now. I think texting before you call is best though if it is past 10PM.

When someone cares about you. He/she will answer your call anytime anywhere. 24/7.
When someone does not care about you. Any time is late for him/her.

Actually, this will vary from one person to the other. I know of a friend who works at night, and for her, 1 am or 2 am is not late to call her. In fact, she prefers being called at those times since she will be awake. But i would say, generally, it is good not to call someone late at night. Because it is usually family time or resting time. I don't call people past 8pm and sometimes even earlier. But it is also good practice to just ask people what is the latest time you can call someone. That way you will be sure when they are ok to be called.

I depends on your relationship with the person. If you are at a level of comfort where you calling at anytime is okay then do it. It is also a good rule to not call people at ungodly hours if you don't know them very well. If its a workplace related call, restrict it to working hours. If it can be a text message or email then don't call.
