How healthy is your diet?

I feel like there is no "one size fits all" approach when it comes to diets. Certain people need more of something, certain people need less of something. Generally most "healthy foods" are good for everyone but not every diet is. I feel like the SAD diet (standard American diet) is one of those cases where it is generally bad for most people. We aren't as active as we once were and I think things need to be updated with that as a standard of clean and healthy living.

How healthy is your diet? Do you eat according to your heritage/ancestry? Do you make sure you are getting all your proper vitamins and minerals?

I am vegetarian, so my diet is generally quite healthy. As you've already mentioned, there is no perfect diet and so it is important to make sure we're getting everything that our bodies need. In my case, it is a bit difficult to get the right amount of protein into each meal so I try and balance my meals as much as possible. I eat a lot of greens and fruits as it is how my parents always fed me as a child. I don't know if it is an ancestry thing or if they just thought that this would be a good thing to incorporate into my life but as a grown up I can not go too long before getting a hankering for a hearty salad. I live in a place that doesn't get a lot of Sun so I take a vitamin D supplement and a vitamin C one occasionally since humans neither make nor store it. I think I'm getting all my vitamins and minerals but I do keep an eye out for any symptoms of deficiency and alter my diet accordingly.

On a scale of 1-10, it's a 9. At the moment. I've been eating lots of fruits and being conscious of what I am feeding my body. Eggs, meat, and fish make up the protein. Green veggies go a long way. In addition, I drink tea infused with various herbs every day, which helps strengthen my immunity. I was a huge fan of junk food, but once I got aware of my body's needs, their intake was naturally limited to when I hung out with my friends.
