Have you thought of changing your first name?

Have you ever thought of changing your first name? What would you change it to if you could? Ryan is the perfect name for me in my opinion but if I had to change my first name I would probably change it to Matthew. What about you?

Interesting question. Just curious, why Matthew?

Personally, i wouldn't want to change mine. I find it rude to change names, it makes your parents (or whoever named you) sound either shallow or not thoughtful enough. I have seen people going through the swearing affidavit process to change names but i wouldn't wish to go that way.

On the other hand, i agree some names are just so disturbing that people decide to change.

With my last name Matthew has a nice sound to it lol. I guess there's a bunch of first names that sound nice with my last name but my current name and Matthew would definitely sound the best. I wouldn't want to change it though only if I really had to.

Yeah, only one Ryan can be at Avyanna! lol just kidding. But in all honesty, I never really thought about changing my name before. I suppose I had a couple nicknames over the years, and maybe those ran through my mind, but I would never.

I like my name, Ryan was my dad's name, so it's a bit more special for me.

I hated my name growing up because "Deborah" just sounds like an older woman's name and I did get made fun of for it. I started going by Debbie or "Deb" in my teens and stuck with that since. No one calls me Deborah. So I did consider it when I was younger but now it is part of me and I don't want to change it.

Yes I have! My name, Gloria, sounds so bland and not interesting enough for me. And it doesn't help that I don't like any of the short forms that can be gotten from the name. However, in my culture, names given by parents are special and have meanings. It could be given based on the circumstances surrounding your birth or as a testimony of how grateful they are to God. And it is also said that your name attracts what it means. So, you can't just "change" your name where I'm from just because you don't like the sound of it. So I guess I'm stuck with it. Lol
