We always have corporate and traditional holidays every year but I thought it might be fun for my husband and I to have our own holiday. Something we can share with friends and our children when we have them someday. Has this ever been something you did or considered?

I once made my own holiday because I was so tired from work and family arguing.I was just 23 years old and I went to Scotland alone just to give sometimes to myself. I got stuck in Edinburgh but I enjoy every part of it. I had no plans but I just promised my self that I will enjoy every moment by talking to people, swimming, drinking and visiting new areas

As a freelancer, i make my mini-holidays every week. But once in a while, i usually give myself an off-day in the middle of the week. I usually take a day or two within the week depending on how busy the week has been. If i have achieved most of my goals, i usually tend to reduce the time i spend working the following week. That means i can give myself up to three days of being "lazy". Or just walking and connecting with nature. I don't call the days holidays, just off-days. When i do things that are out of my routine tasks.
