I almost lost a ton of money investing in a company. Turns out it was just some pyramid scheme someone created in the hopes of getting people to invest. I almost invested $5000 of my hard earned money into it. I’m glad I decided not to. But, when I did lose money, it was a few years ago. I lost over $200 worth of old movies. That was a major blow.

Investing, no but gambling, yes. I wouldn't say it was a lot but in terms of just blowing money with a very small chance of any return, it was a bad choice on my part. I have learned to be more mindful and if I am going to do any kind of gambling be it in the literal sense or in stocks (as an example) I will not be doing it unless I can afford the loss.

Hmm nothing comes to mind about losing huge amounts of money but I'm sure I've wasted my money on some meaningless materialistic things but I've never had money stolen from me or something like that.

I had my purse taken from my room while on holiday with a person with dementia. I had left the person asleep and when I came back my purse was missing, my watch etc.

He had placed outside some other room, I lost our cash, but thankful that the person did not take our credit cards, we were thousands of miles from home. The best part was the bus and train tickets were still in the purse.

It was a difficult time, getting the person stable, we end up seeking help from a local dr, before returning home.

The largest sum i have ever lost online was $379, from a failed bitcoin deal. Whereas I lost over $200 on an offline deal, some pyramid scheme kind of thing. Nowadays I keep my cards close. I never enter into any deal without deeply scrutinizing the authenticity of the deal.

Well, not so long ago , it was last month when I dropped my whole wallet somewhere at the mall , luckily it didn't contain my identity card , debit cards , and driving license at that instance but what there were approximately 150 $ , which is a big amount of money for me given that I work hard to earn those bucks.

Sorry about that bro. That is quite an amount. Considering that this time of the pandemic it is hard to earn such an amount. It is good you didn't have your sensitive documents in it. Applying for those documents can be a pain! Don't worry, keeping working hard, you will just replace the lost amount.

I sent a payment from paypal to my bank one month ago tonight; it got lost, and eventually wound up back in my paypal account two weeks later. I sent it again, after they told me it was safe to, and again, it has gone missing. I emailed them back yesterday to which they told me it has been processsed by them on the 15th. So I went into my bank and they have proven to me that no payment has ever made it's way into or near my account. I've emailed paypal back to explain this but given how hard it's been and how long it's taken, i don't have much hope they'll take responsibility for this lost money. What can i do? I can't afford to ring them and speak to a person and emails take a day to be replied to! I've had no apologies, it just seems like they''re shying away from it and trying to place to the blame on me or my bank. Something that should take three days has taken a month!
