Since smartphones are being enhanced greatly with time, so I was wondering that whether or not can they replace laptops in future.

That will never happen. Ok, at least not in the next 20 - 30 years.

The same reason why desktops computers are still being produced, despite the immense power that some laptops have nowadays. With sinking sizes, comes the inability to shrink some high-end capabilities.

Yes, the introduction of the SSD went a great way to bring power into small laptop units, but then again, you cannot fit an RTX 3080 in a smartphone so that you could play resource-hungry games like Metro Exodus, Hitman 2, or Far Cry 5.

Plus you cannot fit an 11th Gen intel processor on a phone! That means we will still have laptops and desktops for a very long.....loooong time! Actually they are here to stay!

I don't think so, and here's why. There is still a practical use for laptops. Those who have to write a lot, use for school, etc. Phones will get better and if you want, you could probably write a book or write your paper on one, but I still think a laptop would be more practical for those reasons. Tablets have a much better chance, they're more like a laptop, and some even come with detachable keyboards. So you can use it in tablet mode or use it in laptop mode.

I don't think smartphones will overtake laptops though.

Laptops? Mine gets dust on it! I mostly use my desktop. I have always preferred it even when I only had my laptop. They are convenient on the go but desktops are far more powerful. As for smartphones taking over laptops or even computers in general, I think this will be the case for the younger generations right now. I hardly use my phone to anything outside of calls, texts, and pictures and I am 30 years old. I had my first phone at 15. I guess I just never got into them as much as other people. I will always prefer computers.

I don't think any smart phone can replace laptops or PC. I know people use their smart phone more than their PC but there's still many things which your phone Perform. You need a computer in order to do extraordinary things.  You can't run your office on your mobile phone computers are necessary. Also there's a lots of freelancers on internet how they can complete their orders on mobile phones ?
